I haven't seen anything in the guide that shows what crafting materials are used for what. Just that there are 10+ items that salvage into highend rare materials.

To be fair, it has always been possible (but very highly impossible) to get ecto's from these items.

Certainly the Fog Nightmare drops (shadowy remnents?).

This is nothing new.

Wow, if this is indeed true, and we'll probably know it very soon after the game comes out, then the price of ectos and rubies and saphires and stuff will take a huge plunge. Hmm... now I must debate whether to believe this and liquidize all of my ectos and shards.

It's obviously a reused list. Why would Mursaat and old Ascalon drops be found in Cantha?

Does it show you the ammount of materials needed for crafting each type of armor for each class?

yea, why work for something special when you can be a lazy ass.

seriously, the point of the armor was for people that had a lot of money and wanted to look diffrent. if it was for everbody, it wouldnt have been placed in a high level area and require such a large amoutn of rare material, if you think other wise, then you are special.

now fissure armor is pontless because everyone will try and get it once its cheap, now you will look like the other 600,000 people that are about to get it.

I was thinking of getting it, but not now, because every noob is gunna get it now, just like with spiders.

no offense to the people that play the game casually, but when they do this stuff, it just ruins the game for everyone else. and id say that the majority of players are not casual, this is an online rpg, casual gamers hardly leach on to things like this because its not mainstrem.

why dont they make every drop a gold item with perfect stats and every mob drop 100K, and give out a crystaline sword for every mission you beat.

Dude, a few extra Ecto drops is not going to make FoW armor "cheap".

Plus, this isn't even confirmed yet. It's probably the same mis-information from the first.

So, what's the deal with this Guide, anyway? Is it worth $20?

Yes, I would be interested in knowing whether current players think the factions prima is worth the money.

I dont even own the guide, and I can tell you its not worth it.

in less then a month the information will be wrong because of updates.

you can get better, more acurate, up to date info free on the internet.

haveing the maps isnt even a good reason because you can just look at online maps right on your screen.

We keep thinking of stuff in factions in terms of how things are in prophecies.

There are at minimum 4 new "armor" styles per 8 professions, or 32 total. Most players who get factions are going to want something new.

As for spiders, I see a serious drop in demand for spider pets, especially now that there are at least two kinds of Tigers and potentially an assortment of other kinds of pets (I heard rumors of dragon pets).

We know nothing about the cost of this stuff at this point, but we will in 2 days.

Viva la Variety!

Special people worked real hard for that Ebay Gold to afford that FOW Armor

Still not pointless its a fashion statement. Besides Im willing to bet most FOW armor wearers got it from Ebay. That being true in any sense makes the FOW pointless.

I am everyone else in a sense. I like most people work for a living so getting FOW armor in 12 months is an accomplishment. Even with more Ecto Drops. Heck it took me 3 months to get 15k armor. (Casual Gamer Here)

Now isn't that just a bit overbord? Instead how about a Item merchant to get the cost of mods under control? Why should the casual gamer be forced to pay 100k+10 ectos for a +30 health mod anyways? We (most players) earn a small amount of gold each night. 1000g maybe. By your estimation I (WE CASUAL GAMERS) should have to play 200 nights in a row for +30 health?
If I we had to do that Id go play somthing else. If you have 1 mil gold ... get a life or a job, or better yet stay away from Ebay.

Could'nt agree more.Everyone pays the same price for the game so they should be able to get the same items.Doesnt matter to me if everyone has FOW armor or not.I can afford it but I like Droks. My choice.
It just seems silly to try to limit others to make yourself seem (In your mind) superior. If you farm alot that is your choice..I do myself just because I like it.
It's a D2 thing..)

I’m not saying people don’t have the right to have something, its just you guys are complaining about not being able to get it. Its a game, its about challenge and making things hard to get, otherwise there is no reason to buy the damn game.

This is the problem with gamers today; they can’t handle games even though they are easier now then they were back in the day. If you can’t do something, practice till you can, work at it.

And guess what? I worked for my money and bought this game to, i deserve the right to also enjoy the game. I can get enough for fissure armor, but now its pointless to get if people like you who barely did anything for it also get it. You want fissure armor, then start farming for gold, if you don’t want to take the time to earn it, then there is no reason why you should get it.

I have no problem with casual gamers for the most part, but it does bug me when they complain and ruin the game for real gamers. If you don’t like the game how it was, don’t play it. If you couldn’t get an item, then you don’t deserve too.

And saying most of the people with fissure armor eBay it just shows your ignorance. I maybe play guild wars 3 nights a week, and guess what; it took less then 2 months to get enough to get fissure armor.

Are you gunna complain next that fame is too hard to get, so then every one has rank 12? If you can’t earn an item yourself, then you don’t deserve to have it. Don’t like it? Quit video games, or stop complaining about it.

Whats your point, really? Certain items and armors are meant to be extremely rare. It doesn't mean you have to play 24/7 to get it. Maybe you'll get it in a drop... that's the whole point of a RARE drop being RARE. You want something rare, go farm to try and find it, or pay for it with money you SAVE. I could make plenty of Gold to buy a rare item by only playing 4-5 hours a night after work and sticking it right in storage.

Quote:

I find that extremely insulting. What you're implying is that FoW armor is not earned, which is damn well is. A few 14 year olds spend their paper-route money on eBay gold to fund their FoW armor.. doesn't mean everyone did, or even most. You must be one of those that spout off "Nice FoW armor, eBayer!!" in Local Chat..

I think you need to re-evaluate your points and logic before responding. And I say that with the points I made above, not to flame you.

actually, if that's the case with those kids, then they did ACTUAL work to get it. like riding a bike delivering papers early in the morning. I don't wake up until 11 AM or noon most days. (college=awesome).gaming isn't work. it's, um, a game.

I agree with your point about "working" for it, though thats not the kind of work you should be doing to get your FoW armor...

Also, playing an MMORPG certainly is work. It's a different kind of game than say, Counter-Strike or Mario Brothers, where you have fun for a bit and log off only to repeat the same thing the next day. Your work, items, and settings are all saved for the next time you logon.
